Your Executives
2022-2023 PSA uOttawa Executive Team
Hii! :-) I’m Ayesha Qadri and I am in my fifth year of Honours Bachelors of Health Science with a Minor in Business Management. I was born in Karachi but I also call Islamabad my home as I have spent quite some time in both these beautiful cities. I moved to Canada in 2015. I am very passionate about my Pakistani culture and promoting its values and beauty through social events that invite people of all ethnicities and cultures to learn more about it. My main goal as a PSA executive is to foster a celebratory environment towards Pakistani culture.
Hi, I am Maham Sajid and I am in my fourth year of Honours Bachelors of Health Sciences program. I was born in Lahore, but moved to Canada at the age of 5. Even though I did not stay in Pakistan long, I am very attached to the culture and consider myself a true Lahori ;). I am very passionate about sharing my love for our amazing culture through the organized social events held by the PSA team. These events are open to individuals of all backgrounds, and are a great way to interact with others. My goals as a PSA executive are to spread knowledge about Pakistani culture to our audience and to ensure that every attending individual has a good time at our events!!
Hey, I'm Sauban and I am in my 5th-year of Chemical Engineering. I was born in Karachi and raised Dubai. I moved to Canada in 2016 to finish the remaining years of high school and then pursue higher education. Even through my years in school in Dubai and Canada, I have always found ways to represent the Pakistani culture within the community. My ultimate goal is to demolish some stereotypes that people, unfortunately, have about the beautiful country that is Pakistan. When not in Ottawa, you will probably find me on Gerard Street in Toronto with a plate of Gol Gappay in one hand and Kashmiri chai in the other.
Khadija Kamal
Hey! My name Khadija Kamal and I am in my 5th-year of Psychology. I am finishing up my last semester and Uottawa and being apart of PSA has been such an exciting time! To meet more people and share my culture :)
Hi! My name is Afifa and I am in my 3rd-year of Biomedical Science. I was born in Saudi Arabia and moved between Pakistan and Saudi every 6 months until I moved to Canada when I was 4. In my free time I love to bake, or watch netflix (usually rewatching Prison Break or Money Heist). I wanted to be more involved in the university, make more Pakistani friends, and be surrounded by people who embrace and celebrate my culture.
Salam! My name is Warda Mahmood and I am in my third-year of Honours Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Business Management. I was born in Sharjah, UAE but lived in Karachi before moving to Canada when I was 10 years old. I love everything about my Pakistani culture from the food to the people to the events and to the places. My purpose in joining PSA was to show everyone a little bit of Pakistan through PSA.
Hello :) I am Urooj Shah and I am in my fifth year of Business Technology Management. I was born in Ottawa but am originally from Karachi. My Pakistani heritage is something very near and dear to my heart, as I grow older I find a deeper appreciation for the culture through poetry, language, history, food, friends and community. As a a PSA exec, my hope is to encourage other Pakistanis to learn more and connect with the parts of our culture that we sometimes lose living overseas. And I actively work towards making this club a place where this is possible for us all.
Hi everyone! My name is Faaris. I was born in Karachi and lived in Kuwait and Toronto for most of my life. I’m currently in my second year of Law school, and I did my undergrad at UofT. I decided to join PSA because throughout my undergrad, I was heavily involved in the PSA at my university and I always sought to find people from a similar background/life experience as myself. I’m also passionate about sharing the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan with others!
Waleed Munir
Director of Internal
Salam! My name is Waleed and I am in my third year of Computer Science. I was born in the U.S., and grew up in Ottawa but went to school in Lahore. I am an Athelte and Pragmatist. I decided to join PSA to be around like minded people.
Hi, my name is Elisha Hasan. I am a second-year student completing an HBSc in Psychology with a Minor in Law. I was born in Toronto but lived in the US for 12 years of my life before moving to Canada. My family is originally from Karachi and we visit Pakistan as much as we can. I love our culture and want to bring as many people to it as possible. I think the best way to do that is by joining the PSA here at uOttawa. In addition to PSA, I love participating in mock trials, social outreach, and practicing my public speaking skills!
Hello! My name is Iman and I am in my second year of Biomedical Science.
I am passionate about science learning and application. My other interests include cooking, crocheting, and writing in my free time. But by far my favourite thing to do is make people laugh :) I joined the PSA because I’m super pumped about promoting Pakistani culture and tradition. It’s a big part of my identity and I hope everyone can see the beauty in it that I do.

Moatter Syed
Senior Advisor
Hey, My name is Moatter and I am in my 5th year of Cellular and Molecular biology with a Minor in Health Sciences I am working towards completing my undergraduate studies and pursuing a career in the health sector. I was born and raised in Ottawa, but my family comes from Chakwal, Pakistan. Despite being born in Ottawa, I have always had a strong admiration for Pakistan and affinity for its rich culture and breathtaking landscapes! Being further away from Pakistan has drawn me even closer to it. As an exec, I hope to show others too, how truly beautiful this country is and how much more it has to offer. I look forward to hosting more events that stay true to our culture but also welcome people of other ethnicities too!
